We may use assessment tools and surveys in various contexts, including:
Why assessment tools? As in many fields of practice, consultants use specialised tools and processes. The tools we use in our work might go by a variety of names; assessment instruments, diagnostic instruments, personality profiles, psychometric tools or organisational surveys. We believe that self-awareness is a key element of personal, team and organisational effectiveness. With heightened self-awareness and acceptance of responsibility comes the possibility of positive change. In our coaching and development work and organisational change interventions we draw from a range of assessment instruments and psychometric tools which we find to be of benefit to clients. Some are useful for exploring personal motivations and values; others are well suited to comparing one’s views and perceptions with the views of others – the benefits flow into the workplace from fruitful and judgment free exploration of differences and affirmation of strengths. Listed below is a brief description of the key instruments we utilise and a link to find out more information. We can also access a wider range of instruments via our network of associates. Contact us for more information. Facet5 is a 'Big 5' factor personality model, which allows managers to understand how people differ in their behaviour, motivation, attitudes and aspirations. Facet5 works at all levels from individual assessment through selection, recruitment and team integration. Facet5 can even be extended to understand culture and values at a team or corporate level. Klein Group Instrument® for Effective Leadership and Participation in Teams (KGI™) is unique in its ability to assess a range of behaviours that are essential for effective leadership and teamwork. The four major scales are broken down into nine subscales that provide you and your team with action steps to boost your performance. Click here to visit the CAPT website and the KGI. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) This instrument is a self-report questionnaire designed to make Jung's theory of psychological type understandable and useful in everyday life. MBTI describe valuable differences between normal, healthy people - differences that can be the source of much misunderstanding and miscommunication. The MBTI will help you to identify your strengths. You can use the information to better understand yourself and identify potential areas for growth. It will also help you to better understand and appreciate those who differ from you. Your MBTI profile will be administered by a Telos consultant. Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI®) is a proven resource for improving team effectiveness and reducing the costs of conflict. It is the primary assessment of a suite of tools based on Relationship Awareness Theory® — a learning model for effectively and accurately understanding the motive behind behavior. This self-awareness greatly enhances peoples' ability to relate more professionally, communicate more effectively and handle conflict more productively.
